By participating in Future Me (by Read, Write, Count), participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Conditions of participation
To take part, participants can choose to upload a picture, video and/or message via the dream submission function at futureme.scot. Please note that any video submissions will be hosted on the Read, Write, Count YouTube account for accessibility reasons. Videos are uploaded as ‘unlisted’ so are not open to the general public and will only ever be viewable on the Future Me wall.
Before they appear on the Future Me wall, all submissions will be vetted by Read, Write, Count, and will be accepted and or rejected at Read, Write, Count’s discretion.
Any submissions, from and featuring children must have the parent’s or carer’s permission.
Any submission containing inappropriate language, imagery, context and/or content will be rejected at Read, Write, Count’s discretion.
Lost, delayed, undelivered, incomplete or duplicate submissions will not be accepted.
Read, Write, Count accepts no responsibility for submissions, or emails/communications that are misdirected, lost, delayed, damaged or corrupted during delivery to or from Future Me and/or Read, Write, Count due to any computer malfunction, virus, bug, delay or other reason whatsoever. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
Submissions cannot infringe on the rights of any third parties.
On submission of your dream, you grant Read, Write, Count unlimited, freely assignable, royalty free licence in any intellectual property rights or other rights vested in your submission.
Read, Write, Count may, at their discretion, use the content submitted to Future Me in future Read, Write, Count promotional activity. If you do not wish your submission to be used in this way, please contact Read, Write, Count directly.
Read, Write, Count will only collect personal information for the purposes of managing and administering Future Me. The personal information will not be used for any other purpose without the participant’s consent. This will not affect existing marketing preferences participants may have with Read, Write, Count.
By participating in Future Me, each participant consents that their personal information may be transferred to Read, Write, Count’s service providers and agents (including their sub-contractors) to store and use as necessary to administer Future Me. Read, Write, Count will never provide a participant’s personal information to third parties for them to use in their own direct marketing, without the participant’s consent.
Personal information will be held on record for a short period of time as necessary to administer Future Me and related communications.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, Read, Write, Count shall not be liable for any loss or damage, injury or disappointment whatsoever which is suffered or sustained as a result of participation in Future Me (including any damage to participant or any other person’s computer or mobile phone equipment as a result of downloading or accessing any materials).
Any participant posting or seen to be posting comments on Read, Write, Count’s Facebook page, Twitter page or elsewhere during Future Me, that are considered bullying, spiteful or upsetting to other participants and fans of Read, Write, Count or which disparage Read, Write, Count, will have their comments removed.
Read, Write, Count reserves the right to alert Facebook or Twitter to such behaviour and you may have your Facebook or Twitter account frozen pending investigation.
Owing to exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control, Read, Write, Count reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to withdraw or amend any aspect of Future Me.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Scots law and shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising in respect of a Promotion.
If there are any reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions Read, Write, Count may, at its sole discretion invalidate the relevant submission.
